The Christian faith is revealed in the Bible, it speaks of an Almighty God – the eternal and holy Creator – who wants us all to know Him personally.
We all naturally aim to live life to the full, we feel we can get by as decent citizens and most of us care how others see us. Yet our focus on ourselves leaves us apart from God and His plan for our lives, therefore we pay little attention to God, Remarkably He still cares very much for us.
He sent his own Son, Jesus of Nazareth into the world. Jesus is fully God and fully man, Jesus lived a perfect life and demonstrated to all He met the love of God, He then died in our place at Calvary.
So now by faith in Him, it is possible to have our broken relationship with God the Father restored.
The Lord Jesus rose bodily from the dead, proving that He is Lord and God, He now offers us forgiveness, the necessary transformation to our lives and the power we need to live for Him in this broken world. This happens one person at a time, as people freely choose to trust in Him, He grants them forgiveness if they are willing to repent and confess Him before others as Lord.
We may feel that living for God is beyond our ability, yet when someone trusts in Jesus, God the Holy Spirit lives in them and gives them the power to live for Jesus. So absolute faith in Christ and what He has done by dying in our place is the key – the Bible tells us that “without faith it is impossible to please God” – the Apostle Paul reflected on the change the Lord had made to his life when he said – “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” (Philippians 4v13).
In this uncertain and troubled World, the Christian has a certain expectation, the return of Jesus, who will one day be acknowledged by all to be King of Kings and Lord of Lords, there will be a new Heaven and New Earth, and He will live with His people forever.
