Pit stop scripture insights

The Bible contains such great advice and wisdom. Lets look at a scripture from Ephesians.

Lets unpack a bit about this scripture. It all sounds very scary when we refer to the devils’ schemes, but unfortunately there are dark forces working against us. But God has given us instruction what to do to deflect the enemies’ schemes to thwart negative situations that can come before us, as well as keeping our peace in a storm.

What does putting on the armor of God look like? It is a discipline but praying regularly about our needs and the needs of communities and others, claiming and declaring God’s promises over our lives and meditating on Bible scriptures can thwart the enemies’ plans to reek havoc, so pray with boldness and declare Gods promises over our lives.

Next up we are going to talk about Psalm 97v10

If we love the Lord, we should hate evil. What does evil look like? Well, it can come in all kinds of forms, but whatever the evil is we can take hope in this Psalm that those who are faithful in him regularly praying, confessing, and reading the Bible he will deliver us from wicked evil that the enemy wants to throw at us. So pray, read the word of God regularly and confess any sinfulness in our lives and he will deliver us from evil.

A recap of our morning Facebook scripture posts

We will be posting our morning scripture Facebook posts on our blog so that you can read up on them later. Not only that but for our church members who do not use Facebook and want to see them as well. So we start off with scripture from Psalm 91.

What does this scripture mean? This is a promise we can claim from God. Those who spend time with God in prayer and meditate on his word will rest in him and God will be with them in all circumstances. Today could be filled with challenges but God is our fortress, and we can trust in him to bring us through whatever the day holds for us, so fear not God is with us.

Next up scripture from Psalm 33.

What does this scripture mean. From time to time friends, family and whoever is close to us can fail us. It could be a simple argument, or a very complicated situation that causes people to hurt one another. What this Psalm is saying is when we are saved and the Lord is our shepherd he will never fail us. Jesus is with us in every situation no matter what it is. It could be that you made a mistake and some others will turn from you because of it and fail, but Jesus will never turn away from us and never leaves or forsakes us. What a friend we have in Jesus and what a hope we have in him.

If you are curious about the Christian faith, come along to our family service every Sunday where you can claim promises in the Bible like those mentioned in Psalm 91 and 33. Doors open at 10.45am for free refreshments and drinks. Our service then starts at 11.15am. We will be happy to see you. Have a great day 🙂

Prayer can change your situation

A very popular scripture of the Bible is found in the book of Philippians, specifically Philippians 4 v 6, displayed below.

What a wonderful promise of God. How often do we get anxious about things going on in our lives. Paul is saying here do not get anxious. You do not have to be anxious we just have to trust God. God is saying pray to him about all of your situations going on whether they are good or bad, and make requests to God, then we are promised that God will bring us peace guarding our hearts and minds.

Whatever is going on in your life pray. Remember Jesus is the one that can calm the storm as he did when he was in the boat with his disciples in the Sea of Galilee. Jesus is the one who can bring calmness to your situation.

The title for this article is Prayer and deep relationship with the father can change your situation. So if you haven’t been praying as much, or are someone teetering on whether you should believe in God and give it a go, then start praying and wait for him to come in and change your situation, because he really can, and before you know it you will have a testimonial that glorifies God and his faithful promises.

Jesus came to save us not to condemn us

A plane misconception is often made about why Jesus come into the world. This is that he came to put us right to tell us off for our sin. Let’s say this clearly. Jesus did not come into this world to condemn us, he came to serve us, and above all to take away our sins.

Jesus took the punishment for our sins; he stood in our place and was crucified on a cross so that Gods justice could be put on him. This is why we felt the need to write this article, Jesus came into the world not to condemn us but to save us. The scripture in John chapter 3 v 17 sums it up perfectly displayed below.

Even though Jesus took away our sins we should still do everything we can to overcome sin in our lives. However, we will stumble from time to time. Here is the next bit of good news for you, that for us who are saved and confessed Jesus as Lord of our lives there is no condemnation for us, as confirmed in the book of Romans displayed below.

This means when we mess up and we do fall into sin there is no condemnation for us. Jesus does not condemn us, Jesus took the punishment. What it does mean is we are forgiven of our sins past, present and future, and if you are stuck in sin get help, talk to a trusted friend, or church leader and keep trying to overcome sin, or even better pray to God and ask him to help you he can bring you the support you need.

So, lets conclude. Jesus came into the world to save us, to bring forgiveness for our sins and remove them as far as the east is to the west. But importantly so that we could be restored to the father and have a deep and meaningful relationship with him. So stop condemning yourself and know that you’re covered by Gods amazing grace.
