We believe:-
- The Bible was written by around 40 individuals, yet every single word is inspired by God. It reveals to us God’s unique love and his desire to have a living relationship with each one of us.
His Message to us in the Bible is now finished and comes with His supreme authority, so we can trust it completely in all it teaches us. - That there is one God who is revealed to us in three distinct persons – Father, Son and Holy Spirit – who we honour equally. For example, when the Scriptures speak of Jesus they declare – “For in Christ lives all the fullness of God in a human body” (Col.2v9).
- (a) That the Son of God entered our time and space through the virgin birth which was miraculously brought about by the Holy Spirit, also that He lived on earth for 33 years.
(b) That through His sinless life and death on the Cross, God the Father now offers us forgiveness for all our sins and a permanent place in the family of God.
(c) That Jesus was raised bodily from the dead and lives in the Power of an endless life.
(d) That after His mission on Earth was completed, He ascended back to Heaven and sits at the right hand of the Father. He now intercedes for us as our Great High Priest.
(e) That He will return to the air [at any moment] to call home all those who currently trust & serve Him, together with those who are already with the Lord who trusted & served Him faithfully in the past. At that moment we will be changed, each of us given our eternal bodies, be reunited as God’s Family and forever be with the Lord. (see 1 Thessalonians 4v13-18).
(f) That following a terrible time on Earth – known as the Great Tribulation – which will unfold after the Lord has called His Church Home (see paragraph e); He will return to Earth with His Church and set up His Kingdom on Earth for 1000 years. At the end of this Millennial Reign there will be what is known as the “Great White Throne” Judgement, where all those whose names are not written in the Lambs Book of Life will be Judged. Those found not to be in the Book, will have their place in the Eternal Lake of Fire.
(g) That after the Millennial Kingdom, God will Create a New Heaven & New Earth where all those that have chosen Christ as Lord will enjoy His presence and will praise and serve the Lord Jesus throughout all eternity! - That through Adam’s disobedience we rebelled against God, therefore we were no longer part of God’s family and as a result we naturally displease Him in thought and deed.
- The need of the Holy Spirit to draw our attention to Christ, and if we choose to repent, then the Holy Spirit will grant us the power to live the Christian life effectively.
- (a) That we can be made whole and forever right with God by faith in the Lord Jesus.
(b) That if we repent, then we are born spiritually from above.
(c) That when we are born again, our lives will show others that we now think and live differently, they will see us naturally saying and doing things that demonstrate that we serve The Lord, and we are glad to confess Jesus Christ as our Lord and our God. - (a) That at death our eternal spirit retains its consciousness and we instantly enter the presence of God, therefore we do not cease to exist or become unconscious at any time.
(b) That at the resurrection, individuals will appear before the Lord Jesus Christ for the Judgement, which will result in an eternity united or apart from Almighty God.
What do we Practice?
- Baptism by immersion is encouraged for all those who have truly received Jesus Christ as their Lord & Saviour.
- Bread & Wine is shared each Sunday by all those who love the Lord at our Communion Service – we recall and consider the Death & Resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ.
- Our Communion service will always see believers gather to focus on the Lord Jesus Christ, His Life, Ministry and Sacrifice. A time of open worship is led by various believers, including singing, reading of God’s Word, prayer and teaching.
